FEATURES AND ADVANTAGES
The Curved Jaw couplings can be utilized in many applications and serve as an
all-purpose coupling. The basic design of the Curved Jaw allows for a higher torque
capacity in a compact design. The curved tooth has a greater contact area which
gives it the high torque capacity, and reduces edge pressure. It will accommodate
axial, radial and angular shaft misalignment.
The hubs are produced from a variety of materials including: aluminum, gray iron,
Steel and stainless steel. The spider elements are available in various durometer
options in Urethane & Hytrel. The spiders can perform under normal duty
cycle conditions to heavy duty cycles which include shock loading and can minimize
torsional vibrations in the system.

Jaw Coupling
A jaw coupling is a type of general purpose power transmission coupling that also can be used in motion control (servo) applications. It is designed to transmit torque (by connecting two shafts) while damping system vibrations and accommodating misalignment, which protects other components from damage. Jaw couplings are composed of three parts: two metallic hubs and an elastomer insert called an element, but commonly referred to as a “spider”.
Flexible Disc Coupling
A coupling is a device used to connect two shafts together at their ends for the purpose of transmitting power. Couplings do not normally allow disconnection of shafts during operation, however there are torque limiting couplings which can slip or disconnect when some torque limit is exceeded.
Rigid Shaft Coupling
The rigid shaft couplings are completely interchangeable to other industry standard rigid couplings. EPT offers these as a rigid single piece set screw clamp design, a one-piece single split clamp design, and a two-piece double split clamp design. Most designs are available in steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. The steel designs come with either a plain, black oxide, or zinc finish. They are offered in a variety of bore and keyways sizes, including metric bores and keyways.

As a standard the GW10 is fitted with a chain coupling set with a duplex chain according
to DIN chain number 08B-2 or 10B-2. The sprocket wheel joint is available for a 1” (08B-
2), 5/4” or 2” (both 10B-2) drive tubes. The motor gearbox can be mounted at the side
or at the base.
